interesting radio show

last night on my way home I heard an interesting radio program. It was Family Life Today, and the topic was "Letters from Dad". It spoke to the legacy we can leave behind as fathers. The central questions that got the folks thinking were, "have a good dad?", "he love you?", "what's the most important thing he ever gave you?". Its about writing letters of blessing and affirmation to our kids. Want to look more at this topic, and the links on their site.

Awana, and step of faith in business

Awana meeting last night. We found out at the last minute that the program was short 3 people. Lord, touch the hearts of those who serve, and will serve in this ministry. Forgive me for the moments when it seems like another chore, instead of a grand ministry opportunity to serve you and see your grace extended to the next generation. Just read good article about the importance of reaching kids early, see this link

I trust you Lord, that you have a future and hope for the business that You hold together and entrust to me. And on that basis, I completed an employee agreement with one of Your kids, for full time work starting in October. Its scary, because I don't know the beginning from the end of the company, but YOU do. I don't know how it will work out, but you have placed it in my heart. May many people be blessed directly and indirectly by this Ox (business) that has been given to me.

vacation really?

Spent a week dealing with all the chores and fun of taking the kids and their 4h animals to the county fair.

The Lord was gracious in that, all network issues were handled over the phone with a helper. Kinda sounds like Jesus' assention when He said He'd leave us a helper, the Holy Spirit.

Took misc. hardware to fair, and didn't do any work on it. Guess the break was needed. Funny thing, everything undone was waiting for our return home :-(

Spent a lot of special time with kids facing fears about showing their animals, doing barn duty, and watching them grow.

The Honor to teach my kids & other kids about HIM

Went to some training for awana this week. The Lord impressed upon me the importance of giving my kids a Biblical world view. They are young for such a short time before the world and the enemy try to corrupt them.

Ideas for a theme this year are something along the lines of :
"I'm not God" (HE is)
"Its not about Me"
"don't be fooled by the enemy's grand illusion"

Instead,
"The Lord is My Lord God"
"Its all about Him, and His will for me"
"walk by faith not by sight"

May the Lord feed His word and will into these ideas.
