obey God (council time notes)

Our spiritual walk with Jesus can be compared to a race (Phil 3:12-14). We train, and do things we don't always "feel like" based on our own dicipline.

Other times we obey God's will because HE says so. We may not "feel like it", but because of our love and respect, we obey.

Giving in to the "I don't feel like it" is giving into the flesh and temptation. I cor 10:13 lets us know we are not alone, and that we can overcome or escape the temptation...

Eternal perspective

There are so many presures in live, but by the Lord's great work on our behalf, we are to have peace. So much takes place spiritually that we never see. Anymore I laugh when the "suprise" problems arise just as I prepare for Awana. At those times I call on the Lord in faith for more peace, and know the evening is important to Him.
