Its not about me

I don't know how often I talk to the Awana kids, and others about this topic. Human nature(sin) has always been about self. Jesus said we must daily die to self. For example, one is to put their spouse's needs above their own. This can be difficult at times, but I try to always be mindful of Who i serve. Its more than a suggestion [I Jn 3:16]. In His honor, I obey. period.

Its not about me any longer, my life is offered to Him.

Found an interesting Illustration today about, "looking out for Number One":
Several years ago a book was published entitled "Looking Out for Number One." On the dedication page the author wrote, "Dedicated to the hope that somewhere in our universe there exists a civilization where the inhabitants possess sole dominion over their own lives." There is such a place. It's called Hell.

Sat night crisis

Well, at 11:30pm Sat night in Spokane I got call from my son, "I just called 911 because mom asked me to..."

Her stomach flu took a turn for the worst. Plans changed, I was in the truck 5min later racing back home to the hospital. The 200 miles took too long, but provided plenty of time to plead for the Lord's mercy on my family.

Got everyone home from hospital at 5:30am. Long night. I wonder what the spiritual battle that took place this night?

Another year, AWANA conference

As Another year, an I had the chance to go to another great AWANA conference here in Spokane.

These long solo drives are a mini retreat, in that I notice and hear my Lord a little better. Life at home & business is too hectic to make the 3hr solo listening break.

Anyway here are a few important spiritual 'chunks' picked up so far.
* A Mass. father goes to jail as the kindergarden refuses to notify him when they will be teaching gay mariage as normal.
* Kids face pressure to 'grow up' fast by culture, and are forced to make decisions they don't want to, or are not equiped to.
* boys & early Porn exposure, set up a lifetime of bad assumptions that can pollute relationships for many years into the future.
more later....

Alergies and watery eyes made conference event very teary. Just had to get over it & ignore my insecurity about crying during our worship time :-)

Things worked out with Sunday sound responsibilities, and Vehicle situations that will allow me to stay in Spokane tonight and catch a Calvary Chapel service tomorrow! Sounds like daughter is over stomach flu, but wife and son not well tonight.... I continue to ask the Lord's mercy for them tonight...
